Share the Gospel. Here’s how…

Many days I read this 9 Marks selection on the Gospel.

I read it so much that it feels unrehearsed and a part of my every day language.

This helps me tremendously when I share the Gospel.

With the holidays now here, you may have a lot of time with family and friends who may not know the Lord.

This can help you move the conversations to the Gospel.

A good way to summarize this good news is to biblically unpack the words God, Man, Christ,

  1. God. God is the creator of all things (Gen. 1:1). He is perfectly holy, worthy of all worship, and will punish sin (1 John 1:5, Rev. 4:11, Rom. 2:5-8).
  2. Man. All people, though created good, have become sinful by nature (Gen. 1:26-28, Ps. 51:5, Rom. 3:23). From birth, all people are alienated from God, hostile to God, and subject to the wrath of God (Eph. 2:1-3).
  3. Christ. Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to bear God’s wrath in the place of all who would believe in him, and rose from the grave in order to give his people eternal life (John 1:1, 1 Tim. 2:5, Heb. 7:26, Rom. 3:21-26, 2 Cor. 5:21, 1 Cor. 15:20-22).
  4. Response. God calls everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and trust in Christ in order to be saved (Mark 1:15, Acts 20:21, Rom. 10:9-10).

It wouldn’t hurt to read this daily as you go about work and your current context.

Make this a part of your language as you LiveSent…

The Mother Vine…

I had a church member bring me some muscadines recently. If you normally follow me on all social media, you know that I have posted several times about eating a large quantity of muscadines and scuppernongs. I was told today that these wonderful, bite sized bits of heaven are actually from the Mother Vine. I have never heard of the Mother Vine so I googled it. The Mother Vine has an incredible 400 year history. Go here and check it out.

There have been over 5000 pieces of the Mother Vine cut and planted elsewhere. Of those over 5000 only about 100 of them actually bear fruit. I am eating from one of those vines! The Mother Vine muscadines are believed to have more antioxidants and other good-for-you-words.

So pretty much, I’ve been eating a little bit of history lately, and man, is it good!

About 5 years ago, I decided I needed glasses. I could see ok but not like once before, some time ago.

I didn’t wear those glasses very much. I only wore them pretty much when I went to the movies or when driving at night.

Well, I am just a tad bit older now and my vision is fading. Fortunately I can function just fine without them most of the time.

However, this past Wednesday at rehearsal, I noticed that the words on my safety blanket back screen were awfully blurry.

I decided then that I would wear those glasses on Sunday. I did. I may not anymore… I was hoping that Pastor would not say anything about them.

Well he did. He was only kidding of course, but I quickly realized this is payback for all those names I called those kids in my classes that had glasses.

I have become one of those people. Good thing is, I’m maxed out on “cool” so I can afford to be picked on a little. Kidding…

Anyway, I’m considering using a larger font for my words next Sunday just avoid those glasses…

Let all the pride “Jesus Juking” commence… Go ahead, have fun with it.
